Does anyone know why the lcddem dev Koronba deleted everything to his work. Lcddem is my favorite fan game and i love it soundtrack I’m genuinely sad the dev didn’t make anything else

There's speculation that he didn't like the fame he garnered from the two hit KO that was both his song "A Sardine Grows from the Soil" and the more minor fame he got from lcddem. Some speculated it's because some of his work was based off traumatic incidents in his own life or that of others he has known, but personally I think it more or less has to do with the fact that he was quickly gaining fame and notoriety and couldn't handle all the eyes on him and his work that would now be combed through. He's Japanese too, so cultural standards are much different and he either felt like his work was out of his control now (he specifically states for people not to credit him if they reupload, which lead to his work being author titled as XX and derivatives inspired by his work being called pseudo-XX which was a concession after he did the classic Japanese behavior of getting upset about people reposting which I will never understand for the life of me) or he simply wanted an alias and body of work different from what he has already showcased and felt his old identity was limiting. Who knows for sure, there is speculation he was suicidal too and not mentally all that well. The song getting popular on niconico seemed to be the impetus because (from how the situation unfolded) it brought more eyes on lcddem which he wanted all discussion of burnt to the ground. When that wasn't possible, he burnt everything else around burning the whole house of work down. I mostly hope he is okay but he was rather meanspirited towards fans who truly cared about his art (calling them "stalkers" and insulting them on his various twitter accounts that would spring up and then be deleted). It probably plays into the whole cultural "don't repost" culture in Japan that is a bit nonsensical for the nature of the internet.

Western artists who like anime/otaku art have adopted this "don't repost" mindset but without the cultural context of why people in Japan are like this (namely fear of stigma and losing control of their image in a collectivist society) which I find incredibly funny and felt was worth mentioning as a side note because for them its just aping the "serious artist" style. There is also valid reasons though (ie people posting artwork without credit or worse, using artwork or music without credit for their own projects) although I'd say google reverse image search exists for a reason. Though that doesn't address the worse problem of people using without credit or compensation for bootleg merch you see at cons and shady hobbyist stores, but I don't think a watermark on an image that says "No reposting No using No AI" will solve anything other than create a tacky eyesore and limit your reach as an artist.

There's a massive thread about not just LcdDem, but xx in general and the whole madness that happen that time >>124

Is not really clear what actually happen with him. His case is one that deeply resonate in my head constantly, like if it was someone close that suddenly dissapear. I remember even reading something random about that maybe xx was actually a tiny group of people rather that one individual, and some heavy arguments behind scenes related about LcdDem cause a dissolution (tho obviously there's not solid proof of that; again, sometime random I read years ago).

I sincerely hope that he is well, wherever he may be.
