This is the official thread for Someday v0.00. This version is just a look into how the game is supposed to be - five effects and 12 worlds (no deeper locations at the moment) waiting for you!

You play as Itsuki (樹, lit. tree but also can be rendered as いつき), a boy who is trapped in a low-budget apartment because of a typhoon. Instead of a balcony you have a window, and interacting with your bed grants you access to the dream world. Press 9 to cover your eyes and wake up. You can save using the computer. Enjoy this humble 0.00!

Note: The worlds, music and sounds may vary in later versions of the game.

If I may, i would like to offer some opinions on this. First of all, the craftmanship is impressive. No bugs that I found, no graphical misfits. The sound is nice and so are the graphics (although the main character is rather plain).

There are problems, though. The problem is that there is just nothing that really makes me want to keep exploring. I think you focused too much on making lots of worlds, and then put nothing in them. It's not really a problem for a v0.00 but a suggestion from me would be to keep adding stuff to do rather than new worlds in the next version.

Indeed, there's not much to do and few detail, but in v0.01 I was also going to add more NPCs and a use for the wrench effect (a.k.a. the weapon).

Let's say that v0.00 focuses more on the ambience of the whole game, just to know if I'm doing it right before getting into actual event programming.


It's ok, but nothing really sticks out. It feels a little bland. Nice music though.

Despite what it may look like, I'm still alive and working in v0.01. I plan to release it this month before the september exams.

0.01 won't feature much new worlds, but instead will add some action to what was present in 0.00 (more NPCs and effects, slightly improved tilesets, etc.)

Some worlds will be a bit easier to explore, too.


Okay so maybe not so many NPCs, but definitely not as few as in v0.00.

I'm working one last secret feature. After that and adding some detail to the Mountains, v0.01 may come out this week.

Not something too big. I already finished it, by the way. I'm impressed no one put in a YN fangame yet, it's so easy to program!

Don't worry, v0.01 is 95% finished, you'll see soon.

By the way, I solved the system2c.png problem many people had. You won't need to search for that file anymore because it's included in the game.


v0.01 is ready and is currently being bugtested before release!

It's better, more events and stuff. But I would like to see even more. It still doesn't feel quite right. The worlds still feels kinda… dead?

This is cute. It's new, pretty graphics and it's music, but seriously, dude. DIM THE GRAPHICS. It's nice, but while I'm playing it my eyes are either straining against the vivid colors or I'm straining to see past the moving background (especially in that orange-pink world! >:O)


It's curious, the more I develop, the more I dim my graphics. You should have seen v0.00 when it was halfway done. The lava world was hideous.

For 0.02 I think I will change the doodle background, it's too white, it doesn't look like paper. I may dim the mountains too, it's a foggy world so it doesn't make sense that they are so bright.

About the orange-pink world… sorry, that one is meant to be trippy. I may change it too though, it just doesn't look profesional.

Sickmind? Wow! I didn't know the graphics were SO bright. Because Sickmind has some of the biggest parallax problems- oh wait, now I can relate. The alphanumeric world kinda looks like that sharp colours world from sickmind.

Isn't it curious that despite being in hiatus I'm the guy who makes more posts per day in /fg/?


Oh, don't worry, bro. I post in /fg/ almost every day and make up excuses why not to work on my own fangame, too. It's not all that uncommon.

That is a glitch happening when porting your 0.02 save files to 0.03. Those NPCs are not supposed to show up.
I'm going to upload 0.03a as soon as possible, this bug is very embarrassing. I use those NPCs for debugging.

It's funny how no one notices Someday is actually PERiod with another name and a more professional look. I even kept the same protagonist, and for v0.00 his design was the same. But that was a year and a half ago… anyway I'm glad I moved on and continued.

Version 0.06 is out.
It has 22 effects plus instructions and 3 new feats.
Have a 2spooky monster.


Spanish translation of v0.06 since somebody asked on Tumblr.
It has no special characters (Ñ ´ ¿ ! ¨) because they usually get messed up for some people.
In other news, I'd say 0.07 is halfway done.

Meet Zapnef, the minigame that will be available in v0.07. It's a platformer with few puzzle elements. Three levels will be playable in this version, from a total of nine.
In the Someday universe, Itsuki is supposed to be making this game himself. The style is meant to be somewhat bare, just like NASU, but still a bit more detailed.
v0.07 is almost finished, by the way. It should be ready in a week or so.
