Danbooru, Pixiv, and Pinterest are your friends for safe and legitimate wallpaper art. If an image's resolution is small you can use waifu2x to increase the resolution while still maintaining quality (yeah, yeah i know waifu2x is cringe but its useful in this situation and who fucking cares)

YNFG art these days most commonly being posted on Twitter, Bluesky, Pixiv and Tumblr. If socials aren't your piece of cake - then boorus (Danbooru, Gelbooru, Safebooru, Yumebooru) is your best option. Especially the last one.

Also, don't use waifu2x for AI upscaling. While it still gets the job done, it's pretty much outdated. There are better tools around that can upscale with better quality, both online and the ones that can run locally, with Stable Diffusion being one of them.
