If you could complete Yume Nikki's development, what would you add/remove from it?
Would you give it more endings? Would you introduce more clues about Mado's potential story?
More NPCs? Dream worlds?
I would flip mado's logo upside down to mess with players' fanart

maybe add full songs for all the non-looping areas (like how theres "bask in the sun" for the fc house)?

idk though, the short loops are very charming and iconic. i think it would probably be to the detriment of a lot of areas if there were full songs.
mostly i just think it would be nice to have some areas feel a little more special.
even just slightly longer, better mixed loops would be cool.
i think the staircase could use a full song, and i would have FACE and uboa and guillotine world have different soundtracks maybe. i kind of like the arbitrary nature of things though. it feels very dreamlike in that sense.

other endings would be cool. .flow and weirdly enough, niggimus prime's favorite (yndd) kind of got it right i think.
i like the weird arbitrary nature of the conditions to satisfy them, and the minimal changes in endings between .flow. it makes it feel very weird and, once again, dreamlike. like if you remembered these endings in a dream, you would FEEL that they would be different, but would struggle to describe the changes. it's done so well.

.flow is still one of the best video games ever made simply because it's just more yume nikki. i also really appreciate the sense of "getting lost" it gives you; there's stuff like areas being different when playing as rust, the "erosion meter", the really really weird and much more obvious story implications than yume nikki… it really makes one's head spin

but i think if yume nikki were to get a full release it would be much better for it to maintain the feeling of comfort it has now. no matter how far i get in the dream world i always feel as though i have "friends" to go back to.
masada, the pirori, poniko, e and o man, steve "leif" khalifa, the lunatic toriningen behind the desk…
it's very cozy in the face of all the trauma.
it would be cool to have a little diary with drawings of all the unique npcs. or maybe you can collect little plushies of the characters for the dream world bed, or on top of masada's organ. that might be tacky though.

it would be super cool to see some reason to explore outside of effects, other than just wanting to see cool stuff. even just a little timer that tells you how long you've spent on a save file.

I would add like 100 random events that appear in random dream world maps that trigger through exploring for over 10 minutes and can only be triggered once every 48 hours, that would give players a lot of new stuff to uncover and incentive to keep playing.
