I actually applied for a position that I was a "overqualified" for but all I wanted was not work in the industry I was in which is horrible (construction in oil & gas). dude wanted me to pretty much automate certain parts of his business I also have no idea on how to do that. I think I brag too much in job interviews and fuck myself when I realize I have no idea on how to do things then get fired for not being able deliver.

Yeah I did the same, almost the same actually, I learned what I was supposed to know on the run.
Just learn to do whatever you lied about unless it's too lunatic, and do it fast, time is running.
